When trying to understand something in more detail, I sometimes use an exercise called, “Think of 10 things…”
I list 10 things that answer the key question at hand. For example, “What are the 10 favorite features that my customers like?” Typically, the first five are easy, the next 3 require some thought, and the last two are very difficult. When finished, I have a comprehensive list related to the subject.
Try this sometime. It is especially useful when needing to do more in depth research or understanding of a product or situation.
