Focus point 4. Highlight people with entrepreneurial spirit seeking positions; and what is the best way for them in an entrepreneurial way to get a position using the Elements of the VCPlan. Whether the job seeker wants to find employment or start a company is up to them.
Investors invest in people, not ideas; because it is people that make the future. When you nourish people, you are not just growing an investment, you are growing your future.
Many of my friends have been laid off and are currently seeking employment. Until you have been through that experience it is hard to appreciate it. I come to notice two types of people when I was looking for a job. Those who got it and those who did not. The ones who got it, were those who experienced a layoff themselves, or who had someone close to them experience a layoff and remembered what it was like. A few could just emphathize, but they were the rare type. Although they could not offer a position, the offered support and solutions. By being constructive and supportive they left a positive image with me and I always felt better after talking with them.
Then there are those who did not get it. Either they had never been laid off, they bought into the idea that only the “bad” people were laid off, or they had forgotten what it was like. Either way, they were inconsiderate, and unsupportive. Some seemed burned out. Others had a chip on their shoulder because they either could not get the “perfect” new hire or they needed someone to beat up.
I get it. With the category “For Job Seekers“, I am going to offer advice to those entrepreneurial types who are not ready to start their own venture; but they are ready to offer their skills to someone else. These are my ideas on how to be entrepreneurial and follow the system of getting a new job.
Someone might think this page is out of place on this blog. I disagree. Investors invest in people, not ideas. When you nourish your people, you are supporting your best investment. This page is the most important page on this blog as it shows how people can put their best foot forward and deliver the most to the business.
